About the project / Über das Projekt

Memory Walls of Lusatia ist eine partizipative Lehminstallation, inspiriert von Umgebindehäusern und der sich wandelnden Lausitzer Landschaft. Gemeinsam bauen wir mit Lehm, Stroh und Flechtwerk eine Wand, die Abdrücke, Muster und persönliche Spuren zu einem kollektiven Erinnerungsarchiv verbindet.

Memory Walls of Lusatia is a participatory earth installation inspired by traditional Umgebindehäuser and the changing Lusatian landscape. Together, we will build with clay, straw and wattle, creating a wall that brings impressions, patterns and personal traces into a collective archive of memory.

Participation / Teilnahme

Du meldest dich für eine zweitägige Session an. Kinder und Jugendliche können in Begleitung einer erwachsenen Person teilnehmen.

You are registering for one two-day session.

Children and young people may participate with an accompanying adult.

What to wear / Was soll ich mitbringen?

Wir arbeiten mit Lehm – schmutzig werden gehört dazu! Im Strombad stehen Umkleide- und Waschmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung. Lehm kann barfuß gemischt werden; wer das nicht möchte, kann Gummistiefel mitbringen. Wir arbeiten normalerweise mit bloßen Händen, stellen bei Bedarf aber Handschuhe bereit. Bitte trage bequeme Kleidung, die schmutzig werden darf.

We will be working with clay, so getting dirty is part of the experience! Changing and washing facilities are available at Strombad. The clay can be mixed barefoot; anyone who prefers not to can bring rubber boots. We usually work with bare hands, but gloves will be available if needed. Please wear comfortable clothes that may get dirty.

Die gemeinsam entstandene Installation ist vom 13. bis 20. September 2026 im Strombad zu sehen.

The completed installation will be on display at Strombad from 13 to 20 September 2026.
