Study Title: Mapping the Motives for Watching Short Videos in Indian Youth: A Scale Development & Evaluation Study

I am happy to invite you to participate in a research study on understanding why people engage with short-video platforms such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Moj, and similar applications. This study aims to better understand the psychological, emotional, social, and behavioural motivations underlying short-video watching habits.

Your participation is completely voluntary.

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire that includes questions about: your short-video viewing habits, motivations for using short-video platforms, media engagement patterns, in general traits, and some general demographic information.

The survey will take approximately 20–25 minutes to complete.

There are no known major risks associated with participation in this study. Some questions may encourage you to reflect on your media usage habits and experiences.

Please note:

Your responses will remain anonymous and confidential. No personally identifying information will be collected unless explicitly stated. The data collected will be used strictly for academic and research purposes. Only the research team will have access to the data. Aggregated findings may be published in academic journals, conference presentations, or research reports.

Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time before submitting the form without penalty or disadvantage.
