Submit Your Art - The Ambrosia Journal Open Call

Your story deserves to be told.

The Ambrosia Journal is an independent digital art journal dedicated to artists whose practices challenge, explore, question, or simply make us look a little closer.

For our upcoming features, we are inviting artists from different disciplines, backgrounds, and stages of their careers to submit their work for editorial consideration.

We are interested not only in what you make, but in why you make it, how you think, what informs your practice, and where your work is taking you next.

Selected artists will be invited to take part in an in-depth editorial interview with one of our contributing writers – a genuine conversation about your artistic journey, creative process, influences, ideas, and the stories behind your work.

This is not simply a portfolio feature. It is an opportunity to put your work into context and give readers a deeper understanding of the person and practice behind it.

What Selected Artists Receive

An In-Depth Editorial Interview

A thoughtful, individually written interview exploring your artistic background, creative process, inspirations, influences, and current practice.

We want the conversation to feel personal and considered – not like a standard artist questionnaire.

A Dedicated Feature in The Ambrosia Journal

Your interview will be published as an editorial feature within our digital journal, giving your work a lasting place within our archive of artists and creative voices.

Social Media Collaboration

Your feature will be supported through a dedicated social media collaboration post, allowing you to share the publication with your own audience.

Exhibition & Promotion Timing

Where possible, we can coordinate the publication of your feature around an upcoming exhibition, launch, collection, project, residency, or other important moment in your practice.

If you have a specific date or upcoming event you would like us to consider, simply let us know in your submission.

Visual Storytelling

Your feature can include selected images of your artwork, studio, exhibitions, or yourself as an artist, helping us build a richer visual portrait of your practice.

Who Are We Looking For?

We welcome submissions from emerging, established, and independent artists working across visual and contemporary creative disciplines, including but not limited to:

· Painting
· Sculpture

We are particularly interested in artists with a distinct point of view, an evolving practice, a compelling story, or a body of work that invites conversation.

You do not need to have gallery representation, a large following, or an extensive exhibition history to apply.

What matters to us is the work.

What Happens After You Submit?

03 – Editorial Interview

A member of our contributing writing team will arrange the interview with you. This may take place by email, written questionnaire, or another agreed format.

04 – Your Feature Is Prepared

Our editorial team will shape the conversation and accompanying material into a finished journal feature.

05 – Publication

Your feature is published in The Ambrosia Journal and supported through our social channels.
