Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to participate in NRI Hockey League games, practices, and related activities:

I acknowledge that ice hockey is a contact sport involving inherent risks including collisions with players, boards, and glass; contact with pucks and sticks; falls on ice; and equipment failure. These risks may result in serious injury including broken bones, concussions, spinal injury, paralysis, or death. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS and full responsibility for my participation.

I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, HEREBY RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS, AND AGREE TO INDEMNIFY NRI Hockey League, its organizers, officers, volunteers, facility owners and operators, referees, other participants, sponsors, and all affiliated parties ("Released Parties") WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property arising from my participation, including claims resulting from the negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by Rhode Island law. I further agree to indemnify and defend the Released Parties against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from my participation or conduct.

I agree to abide by all league and facility rules, wear all required protective equipment (including helmet with full cage or shield), play in a sportsmanlike manner, and refrain from participating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I represent that I am physically fit to participate, that I am at least 18 years of age and legally competent to sign this agreement, and that I maintain my own medical and health insurance. The league does not provide medical or accident insurance for participants. I authorize emergency medical treatment in the event I am unable to provide consent.

This agreement is governed by Rhode Island law. If any provision is found unenforceable, all remaining provisions remain in full force. This waiver remains in effect for all league activities until revoked in writing by the participant.

I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY. I UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING, I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS.

Player Code of Conduct

As a player in the NRI Hockey League, I agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct at all league games, practices, and related events:

1. No threatening, abusive, or discriminatory language directed at any player, official, spectator, or facility staff.

2. All disputes regarding officiating will be handled by Team Captains or the Commissioner.

3. Players shall not confront or argue with officials.

4. Any player receiving a penalty must skate directly to the penalty box without delay or protest.

5. Fighting is prohibited and will result in an appearance before the league's Discipline Committee.

6. No use of alcohol or drugs prior to or during league activities.

7. Players will conduct themselves respectfully and in a manner that reflects well on the league.

Violations of this Code may result in disciplinary action up to and including permanent removal from the league.

League Fees and Refund Policy

All league fees must be paid by the posted due dates. The league reserves the right to restrict participation for any player with an outstanding balance.

Players remain financially responsible for all league fees until a replacement player registers and pays in full. No refunds will be processed until that condition is met.

Players are responsible for identifying potential replacements to expedite the process.

Refund requests not fulfilled by the end of the current season will expire.
