Parkinson's disease (PD) is notoriously difficult to diagnose in its early stages because there is no single definitive blood test. Misdiagnoses occur frequently, with experts noting that symptoms can often overlap with or be mistaken for other neurological conditions.
Parkinson's disease often goes unrecognized and misdiagnosed in our region. Incidentally it's not even tracked in the Caribbean's health data system. Early warning signs can be subtle and are often mistaken for normal aging, stress, or arthritis.
