Product Designer (UI/UX)

Design software that makes complex work feel simple.

At BookThat, we're building SIMA: a powerful SaaS platform that helps staffing agencies and housing providers manage accommodation, inspections, mobility, planning, compliance and much more.

Every day, thousands of users rely on SIMA to run their operations. The platform has complex business logic and integrations that keep critical business processes moving.

That's exactly why great product design matters.

Our users don't spend five minutes in SIMA, they spend hours in it. Your challenge isn't to impress users. It's designing software that feels intuitive despite the complexity behind it.

That's where you come in: as our first Product Designer.

Who you are

You're a Product Designer, not a marketing designer. You're passionate about solving problems, not decorating screens.

You enjoy designing software platforms rather than promotional websites. You think in workflows, user journeys, information architecture and interaction design instead of animations and visual effects.

You understand that the best interface is often the one users barely notice because everything simply works.

Ideally, you have:

- 3+ years of experience designing digital products, preferably B2B SaaS platforms. - A portfolio demonstrating complex workflows, business applications or enterprise software. - Experience with modern design tools such as Figma. - Experience building or maintaining a design system. - Experience conducting lightweight user research and usability testing. - Confidence to establish processes, standards and ways of working where none currently exist.

Industry knowledge isn't required. Curiosity, empathy and strong product thinking are.

How we work

You'll work closely with developers and product owners throughout the entire product lifecycle. Design isn't something that happens before development, it happens together with development.

We believe the best ideas emerge through collaboration, iteration and continuous feedback. Good ideas win, regardless of who suggests them.

You'll have the freedom to experiment, improve and continuously evolve both the product and the way we design it.

Your mission

Your goal isn't to redesign everything.

Your goal is to make complexity feel simple.

You'll improve existing parts of SIMA while helping shape NOVA, our intelligent planning platform that combines workforce planning, accommodation and mobility into one seamless experience. You'll work side by side with developers and product owners from the earliest stages of product development. Not handing over finished mockups but solving problems together.

Why this role is different

You won't be joining an established design team, this means you'll have the opportunity to:

- Establish how design, product and engineering collaborate. - Define design principles that scale with the platform. - Introduce consistency across a growing product. - You'll have genuine ownership. - There won't be layers of approvals or endless design committees. Your ideas will directly influence the future of the platform. Role details Location: Amersfoort [Hybrid] Team: First Product Designer, working directly with Product and Development. Salary: €3,500 - €4,500 gross per month, depending on experience.

What we offer

- Flexible working hours and hybrid working possibilities. - Plenty of ownership and creative freedom. - Real influence on the future of SIMA and NOVA. - A collaborative team with little bureaucracy. - Opportunity to work in a fast paced scale-up  where you can make real impact. - Pension scheme. - Travel reimbursement. - A MacBook, also for private use. - Possibility to work remotely for an extended period, based on performance and skill.
