index freiraum COLLAB bietet Künstler:innen und Kurator:innen aus aller Welt in Kollaboration mit Zürcher Kunstschaffenden und Kurator:innen einen dreimonatigen Wohnaufenthalt in einer Wohnung in Zollikon bei Zürich. Am Ende des Aufenthalts steht die Präsentation des gemeinsam erarbeiteten Projekts in den Räumlichkeiten in Zollikon.
Die 3-Zimmer-Wohnung mit Küche, Bad und Balkon befindet sich am Rosenweg in Zollikon, einer Nachbargemeinde der Stadt Zürich. Das Mehrfamilienhaus beheimatet Studierende der F+F Schule für Kunst und Design Zürich und umfasst einen gemeinsamen Gartenbereich zur Mitbenutzung.
Die Wohnung ist Wohnraum für die auswärtige Partei des COLLAB-Tandems (1 Zimmer) sowie Realisations- und Ausstellungsstätte für das eingereichte Projekt (2 Zimmer).

Voraussetzungen
Die Bewerbung auf index freiraum COLLAB richtet sich an ein Tandem zwischen Künstler:innen und/oder Kurator:innen mit Wohnsitz ausserhalb der Deutschschweiz (Partei 1) und einer lokalen Künstler:in/Kurator:in oder einem Kollektiv (Partei 2).
Die beiden Parteien reichen ein gemeinsames Projekt zur Umsetzung vor Ort in der Wohnung in Zollikon ein. Das Interesse an einer ortspezifischen Arbeit ist grundlegend für die Bewerbung. (z.B. Theaterstück vor Ort; Intervention in den Räumen; Lesung; Videoproduktion). Es werden Projekte aus allen künstlerischen Disziplinen sowie kuratorischen Praktiken akzeptiert. Spartenübergreifende Zusammenarbeit ist möglich.
Die initiale Bewerbung umfasst kein Budget. Bei allfälliger Auswahl des Projekts in der ersten Bewerbungsrunde wird in einem zweiten Schritt eine detailliertere finanzielle Planung von den Projektpartner:innen verlangt. Das Produktionsbudget wird in Rücksprache mit den Bewerber:innen gesprochen. Die finanzielle Unterstützung für die Produktion richtet sich nach den Möglichkeiten von index freiraum.
Der Lebenskostenbeitrag sowie die Wohnmöglichkeiten sind auf die auswärtige Partei beschränkt.
Hinweise
Die Bewerbungen werden nach ihrer künstlerischen Qualität beurteilt und von der Jury, bestehend aus dem index-freiraum-Team, abschliessend beurteilt. Bei einer allfälligen Auswahl kommt ein Aufenthalt erst nach der Unterschrift einer Aufenthaltsvereinbarung zustande.
Reisekosten sind von den Bewerber:innen selbst zu decken. index freiraum kann mit Bestätigungen und Anträgen für Gelder und/oder Visa behilflich sein.
index freiraum COLLAB ist für Personen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität nicht geeignet.
Parallel zu index freiraum COLLAB bieten wir mit index freiraum RESIDENCY eine klassische, zweimonatige Artist Residency an. Dieses Angebot richtet sich an Einzelpersonen ausserhalb der Deutschschweiz.

index freiraum COLLAB offers artists and curators from around the world a three-month residency in an apartment in Zollikon near Zurich, in collaboration with Zurich-based artists and curators. At the end of the residency, the jointly developed project will be presented at the premises in Zollikon.

The three-room flat with kitchen, bathroom and balcony is located on Rosenweg in Zollikon, a neighbouring municipality of the city of Zurich. The apartment building is home to students of the F+F Schule für Kusnt und Design Zürich and includes a shared garden area for communal use.

The flat serves as living space for the external party of the COLLAB tandem (1 room) and as a venue for the realisation and exhibition of the submitted project (2 rooms).

Requirements

Applications for index freiraum COLLAB are open to tandems consisting of artists and/or curators residing outside German-speaking Switzerland (party 1) and a local artist/curator or collective (party 2).

The two parties submit a joint project for implementation on site in the flat in Zollikon. Interest in site-specific work is fundamental to the application (e.g. on-site theatre play; intervention in the rooms; reading; video production). Projects from all artistic disciplines and curatorial practices are accepted. Cross-disciplinary collaboration is possible.

The initial application does not include a budget. If the project is selected in the first round of applications, the project partners will be asked to provide a more detailed financial plan in a second step. The production budget will be discussed with the applicants. Financial support for the production depends on the possibilities of index freiraum.

The contribution towards living expenses and accommodation options is limited to the non-resident party.
Notes

Applications will be assessed on their artistic merit and evaluated by a jury consisting of the index freiraum team. If selected, a stay will only be confirmed once a residence agreement has been signed.

Travel expenses are to be covered by the applicants themselves. index freiraum can assist with confirmations and applications for funds and/or visas.

index freiraum COLLAB is not suitable for persons with limited mobility.

In parallel with index freiraum COLLAB, we offer index freiraum RESIDENCY, a traditional two-month artist residency. This offer is aimed at individuals outside German-speaking Switzerland.
