Capital Gains Tax - Consultation

Over the past week, you will have seen the reports that the 50% Capital Gains Tax discount may be replaced. This has triggered serious concern and uncertainty across Australia’s startup, scale-up and investment ecosystem.

The government has indicated it wants to consult with the sector before finalising any changes.

A coalition including Innovation Bay, GovTech Australia, Aussie Angels, Not A Standard, 8Seats, RecordPoint, Aventure Labs and others across the ecosystem is bringing together founders, angel investors, operators, advisers and industry leaders from every state and territory to help shape a coordinated response.

To develop practical ideas and serious policy alternatives that support productivity, investment, sovereign capability and Australian economic growth.

We need to understand the scale of the community that wants to participate constructively in that conversation.
