About This Role: The "Iron Man Suit"
Your job is to build the machine that allows the Founders to focus on Product and Sales. You are the "Iron Man Suit" for the company who amplifies everyone else’s leverage.
This role is very horizontal. We are too small to specialize, but there's a ton of important work to be done. Head of BizOps catches all of this work. One hour you will be writing a grant proposal for the Gates Foundation. The next you will be figuring out how to register us for payroll taxes in Ohio. The next you will be automating our onboarding flow using n8n.
Think of it like a bootcamp in operational excellence, and a maximally accelerated path to becoming a top-notch founder. You'll build more on context on our business than anyone else. You'll touch process marketing ops, sales ops, customer success, efficacy research, fundraising, and beyond.
This is not a glamour role. It is a "get your hands dirty" role. There is a ton of stuff to be done, and it can be tedious. You're going to learn a ton, but to get there, you're gonna have to do the work.
The "Hunger" Test: If we asked you to figure out how to onboard a contractor by tomorrow morning, you wouldn't ask "how?” You’d just tell us "it’s done."
Some Cool Stuff You’ll Do
- Automate and processize everything. If a task happens twice, you figure out how to scale it up, and if it can't be automated, how it can be made repeatable and who we should hire for it (and then go hire them!).
- Set up workstreams that drive top-of-funnel traffic, like founding a teacher champions program, or relationships with influencers who can spread Goblins for us.
- Manage our relationships with our non-dilutive funders (Gates, Accelerate, New Schools) and ensure research comes to fruition and the world knows about Goblins' efficacy.
- Ensure our district pilots convert to paid contract
- Financial Ops: Manage payroll, taxes, and "corporate hygiene."
- Low Ego: You are willing to do the admin work because you know it enables the mission.
- Vibe Coder: You aren't a software engineer, but you aren't afraid of the command line. You use AI/No-Code to speed up your work.
- Front-end design experience
- Experience growing something (a blog, a business, etc.) from scratch
