So you're interested in joining Good COP Bad COP? Fantastic! 🤗 Good COP Bad COP works because of the people in the room. This isn't about finding the "best" climate professional, or the most impressive resume. We want to bring together people that have spent a few years already navigating the realities of work, and work in climate, and who are curious about other perspectives and comfortable engaging with each other as peers. The application is short. There aren't "good" and "bad" answers. Your answers will help me determine whether Good COP Bad COP is likely to be a fruitful environment for you, and you for it. After filling the application, you'll either be invited to join directly, be invited to a short conversation with me to have a better sense of fit, or we'll let you know if the community is not a fit right now.

4. Good COP Bad COP is a community of practice which centers on connecting with peers and developing insights and skills in a low pressure atmosphere. It also welcomes climate professionals who are building businesses, are freelancers, or are in-between jobs. However, it is specifically not for active job search or business development purposes. Solicitation is not allowed.

7. You're in a discussion with a group of experienced climate professionals. Someone relatively junior - or with a completely different professional background than the group - strongly challenges a point you've made. What's closest to your instinctive reaction?

I’d be a little annoyed. I think people should generally defer to those with more experience or authority in the room.

It would depend on how they did it. I’m open to being challenged, but I think experience and seniority should carry some weight in how these conversations happen.

I’d want to understand their reasoning. Their role or level wouldn’t tell me whether their argument is good.

Great. If they see something I don’t, I want them to say it - regardless of title, age, background, or how long they’ve been doing the work.

8. How often does your work on climate bring up a noticeable emotional response for you - whether that’s frustration, grief, anger, hope, excitement, anxiety, pride, helplessness, or something else?
