Adaptation Gardening Stories

Share your adaptation gardening story! Answer with a photo, a quick video, or a garden tour. This helps Going to Seed show the range of ways people are doing this work.

Your story helps us celebrate how people are adapting their gardens and saving seed. Whether that's in a community video, the newsletter, or on social channels, every response becomes part of the bigger adaptation community story.

Where are you growing?

What are you selecting for, and why?
We'd love to see a video, or photos and text.
Not sure where to start? Here are some ideas: Name one specific trait you're choosing for — flavor, drought tolerance, disease resistance, color, days to maturity, size — and tell us why that trait matters to you. Tell us about a plant that surprised you by thriving (or struggling) in your specific soil, climate, or conditions. Who or what taught you to pay attention to this?
If you're submitting a video, Please keep it less than 3 minutes total. Short and casual is perfect.

Upload your photo or video

Additional photo or video (optional)

Text explanation of what you submitted.

Garden Tour (bonus)

Give us a quick tour of what's growing where, and why you laid it out that way.

Ideas: Point out the plant you're proudest of this season, and tell us why.

We’d love to see seed adaptation in action:  pest pressure, drought stress, or anything else that’s caught your eye this season. A plot or harvest of diverse individuals of the same species, healthy plants next to diseased ones, community events that include seed cleaning/sharing, identification of a new hybrid.
