Beyond a Black Box and PDFs: Innovating Ideas, Reimagining the Admissions Experience

Through my consultancy, Social Design Strategies, I’ve been leading an exploratory effort in project with an innovative public charter high school, Design Tech High School in the Bay Area. We are building and testing a novel application prototype designed to signal the unique value of experiential learning curriculum and durable human outcomes (think: agency, curiosity, and collaboration) without crashing an admissions office's workflow or adding undue friction.
We are bringing together a group of 10–12 admissions staff, enrollment leaders, and counseling directors for an informal, off-the-record conversation over breakfast to stress-test our prototype.
When: Friday, October 9 | 7:30 AM – 8:45 AM
Where: Prairie Kitchen & Bar at the Hyatt (across the street from the Convention Center)
1300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403
Format: Brief prototype walkthrough + facilitated peer roundtable (No corporate pitches, Chatham House Rules).
We are capping the room at 12 to keep the dialogue rich and participatory.
