The Tactical Return — Pilot Cohort Application

PROGRAM SCOPE AND SUITABILITY NOTICE The Tactical Return (“TTR”) offers group coaching, education, guided reflection, communication practice, participant-selected goals, and peer accountability informed by military and law-enforcement culture and Jim Hamilton’s coaching-related training. Jim Hamilton holds a Jungian coaching certificate, has completed Relational Life Therapy® (“RLT”) Level 1 and Level 2 training. He is not an RLT-certified Therapist, and is not a licensed mental-health professional. By continuing through, and submitting this application, you understand and acknowledge: • TTR is not, and does not offer, psychotherapy, counseling, psychological assessment, medical care, substance-use treatment, domestic-violence intervention, or crisis services. • TTR cannot and does not diagnose or treat mental, emotional, behavioral, substance-use, or medical conditions. • Participation does not create a therapist-patient, counselor-client, or other licensed professional relationship. • TTR may not be appropriate for someone currently facing an emergency, immediate safety threat, or acute crisis that prevents safe and respectful group participation.

I have read and understand TTR's Crisis and Emergency Resources Policy.

A "Yes" to any of the following means this program is not the right fit at this time. We'll point you toward better-matched support

Active intimate partner violence (physical, verbal, or mental abuse)

Ongoing affair(s) (physical or emotional)

Active addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, or porn)

Untreated mental health issues (psychosis, major clinical depression, or acute PTSD)

Note: A PTSD diagnosis alone is not a disqualifier. This question applies only to acute, actively destabilizing PTSD symptoms that are currently unmanaged and untreated.

What is the primary life transition you are currently navigating?

e.g., career pivot, divorce/relationship breakdown, identity shift, feeling lost, retirement, empty nest

What is the biggest operational challenge in your primary relationship right now?

Be direct. What is broken or struggling?

If nothing changes in your relationships or identity over the next six months, what is the exact cost to your family, your sanity, and your legacy?

Describe your current relationship with stillness, solitude, or any reflective practice.

Complete beginner, or do you have an active practice?

Why do you want to join an elite group of 12 men specifically right now? Why not just read a book or do individual coaching?

This program combines intense real-world grit with structured self-reflection, relationship-skills practice, peer feedback, and accountability. On a scale of 0–10, how ready are you to examine recurring patterns, receive direct feedback, practice new approaches, and follow through on commitments?

Note: Applicants below a 7 are typically not ready for this program.

The Tactical Return requires a firm commitment to three consecutive 90-minute live sessions, plus approximately one hour of independent weekend fieldwork every week. Because the sessions are sequential and depend on group continuity, consistent and punctual attendance is a material part of participation.

Can you commit to attending all three sessions on time and completing the assigned fieldwork?

Note: Participants who arrive more than 10 minutes after a session begins may not be admitted because late entry can disrupt the group process. A missed session may result in removal from the cohort. TTR will consider reasonable accessibility requests and circumstances outside the participant’s control on an individualized basis. Sessions will not be recorded. Makeup sessions are not guaranteed.

Which seasonal cohort are you applying for?

2027 cohorts are currently closed for applications. Check back in October 2026.
