Welcome to the AIFL Zine Application. This year's theme is "Pining in Aeor".
The plan is to give the digital version of the zine out for free, but also create physical copies for those who are interested. We will be making all our art and layout to certain printing parameters. If you've never worked in print before, no worries! We will help you through it.
The priority will be on a variety of ideas, ship dynamics, and perspectives. We expect you to pitch your idea, and we will primarily choose applicants based on getting a variety of ideas.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ollie on discord! Username is melanchony_clown, and we should be able to chat if we share a server.
If you want to work with someone but do not know who, apply as a solo creator and we will discuss possibilities if accepted.
Please apply as "both" if you are on a team. Teams are expected to be one artist and one writer.
What name you prefer we use for you and/or your team.
Ex. Ollie (They/He) and Tom (He/Him)
Discord handles for the team, which will be our primary method of communication. We will invite all accepted into a separate server for discussing the zine.
Pitch your project to us! Get as specific as you can. If you have multiple pitches please fill out the form multiple times. Please include your intended size of this project. For example, word count, full page illustration or smaller drawing that will need layout, one page, two pages, etc. We are currently not allowing dark matter content.
Ex. Essek pulling Caleb close by the book holsters and kissing him while they are covered in their own blood.
Bluesky, Tumblr, Deviantart, mostly does not matter. Please avoid Twitter links as not everyone on the mod team has a Twitter. If you do not have social media, link to file(s) we can download to check out.
Thank you so much for your submission! Applications will be open until July 4th, 2026. You will be contacted within two weeks of the deadline.
