The Role

We are looking for a sharp, hands-on Finance Associate to join our core team. This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of Finance and Operations. You will be the go-to person for reconciling account-level spends and billings across every household we serve, while also reviewing Finance BAU — accounting, payments, and reporting. You will work directly with the Finance Head and collaborate closely with the Operations team on a daily basis.

What You'll Own

Reconciliation & Account-Level Finance

● Own end-to-end reconciliation of amounts spent and billed at the household account level ● Partner with the Operations team to identify, investigate, and close discrepancies between spend and billing data ● Build and maintain Excel-based and AI-assisted reconciliation tools to automate recurring checks ● Flag variances, track resolution, and escalate patterns that indicate systemic issues

Finance BAU

● Handle day-to-day accounting entries, ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities ● Process and reconcile vendor and operational payments with accuracy and on time ● Support MIS reporting, cash-flow tracking, and financial summaries for leadership ● Assist in statutory compliance, audits, and documentation as required

Cross-Department Coordination

● Act as the finance point of contact for the Operations team on billing queries and reconciliation ● Coordinate with external vendors, banks, and service providers as needed ● Drive alignment across teams by proactively communicating finance status and blockers

Process & Tool Building

● Design and maintain reconciliation trackers and dashboards in Excel ● Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to build automations, smart templates, and analytical tools ● Identify process gaps and independently propose and implement improvements

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills & Experience

● 4-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related role

● Prior experience at a high-growth startup — you understand the pace, ambiguity, and ownership that comes with it ● Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel — complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data modelling ● Working knowledge of AI tools and the ability to use them to build reconciliation and finance automation tools ● Excellent cross-functional communication skills — comfortable engaging with Ops, vendors, and leadership alike

Good to Have

● Prior experience in a household services, marketplace, or consumer startup ● Familiarity with Zoho Books, or any ERP / accounting software ● Exposure to bank reconciliation, multi-party payment flows, or escrow-style accounts ● Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance in IndiaPrior experience in a household services, marketplace, or consumer startup
