Sinthome residency program application form

Thank you for your interest in Sinthome Residency. We invite artists from diverse disciplines to apply and engage with a process that combines artistic practice, research, and psychoanalytic exploration.

This form will guide you through the application. You can either upload a portfolio or share a link to your website. Take your time and make sure all materials are included before submitting.

Eligibility Criteria Sinthome Residency welcomes applications from artists working across disciplines who are interested in engaging with a process that combines artistic practice and psychoanalytic inquiry.

Applicants should demonstrate a committed artistic practice and a willingness to engage critically with their work within the context of the residency programme.

The residency is open to both emerging and established artists. There are no strict academic requirements; however, applicants should be able to clearly articulate their practice and interests.

International applicants are welcome. Please note that participants are responsible for arranging any necessary visas and ensuring they can commit to the full duration of the residency.

A working level of English or Spanish is recommended in order to fully engage with the programme and its activities.

Terms & Conditions – Sinthome Residency

By applying to and participating in Sinthome Residency, applicants agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility and Application

Applicants must provide accurate and complete information. Sinthome Residency reserves the right to reject incomplete or misleading applications. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.

2. Selection Process

Participants are selected based on the strength of their artistic practice, motivation, and relevance to the residency’s curatorial and research framework. All decisions are final.

3. Financial Responsibility

Sinthome Residency does not currently provide funding, stipends, or financial support.
Selected artists are fully responsible for covering their own expenses, including but not limited to:

Travel (international and local) Accommodation International travel medical insurance Residency fees Production costs Any additional personal or professional expenses 4. Residency Participation

Residents are expected to actively engage with the programme, including:

Participation in scheduled sessions (psychoanalytic and guest-led) Engagement with the curatorial framework Contribution to open studio or public-facing moments 5. Programme Structure

The residency includes curatorial guidance, community engagement, and visibility through communication channels (including social media). The programme structure may evolve, and Sinthome Residency reserves the right to make adjustments when necessary.

6. Documentation and Visibility

By participating, artists agree that documentation of their work (images, texts, or recordings) may be used by Sinthome Residency for non-commercial purposes, including website, social media, and communication materials, with proper credit.

7. Artist Responsibilities

Artists are responsible for:

Managing their own time and project development Ensuring they have the necessary equipment and materials for their practice Respecting shared spaces, collaborators, and the local context 8. Code of Conduct

Sinthome Residency is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment. Discriminatory, abusive, or harmful behavior will not be tolerated and may result in termination of participation without refund.

9. Withdrawal and Cancellation

If a selected artist withdraws from the residency, they must notify the organization as soon as possible. Any fees paid are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.

10. Liability

Sinthome Residency is not responsible for:

Loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings or artworks Personal injury or health-related issues during the residency
Participants are required to have valid health and travel insurance. 11. Changes to Terms

Sinthome Residency reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be informed of any significant changes.
