This survey is part of the LITE project, a project that aims to better understand how universities support and promote teaching excellence. Teaching excellence refers to the sustained development, recognition, and institutionalisation of high-quality teaching practices in higher education, achieved through strategic leadership, supportive institutional structures, and continuous professional development of teaching staff. In particular, the project focuses on how educational leadership and Centres for Teaching and Learning work together to improve teaching and learning in higher education.
Your responses will contribute to a European mapping of institutional approaches and help identify practices that can support the future development of teaching and learning in higher education. The results will also help us to design training activities that will be organised later in the project. They will focus on selected topics in teaching and learning, and you can join them for free. All responses are collected anonymously. The survey should take around 15-20 minutes.
In this survey, we use the term “Centre for Teaching and Learning” (CTL or just “Centre”) to describe institutional units that support teaching development, pedagogical innovation, and academic staff development. These units may have different names at different universities (for example, teaching and learning centres, academic development units, or similar structures). In this survey, we are interested in all units with this role, regardless of their exact title and position at your university.
The aim of this survey is to collect perspectives from different actors in higher education in order to better understand institutional strategies, structures, and challenges related to teaching excellence. Your experience as a university leader, teacher, CTL staff or leader is essential for understanding how CTL’s or similar units operate and how they interact with university leadership and academic staff.
