What You’ll Do
Building and maintaining background processing pipelines on Cloudflare Workers (order processing, inventory sync, tracking ingestion, webhook handlers, invoice jobs).
Owning and extending our third-party integration layer - including resilience, retries, idempotency, proxies and rate-limiting behavior.
Designing and improving our distributed tracing, alerting, and monitoring stack (Opentelemetry, Grafana Cloud, Sentry) so we catch issues before clients do.
Working on the data layer: schema evolution in Drizzle + PlanetScale, query performance, branching workflow safety, large-table migrations.
Contributing to WMS infrastructure on GCP - IaC, deployment pipelines, and reliability work.
Driving system design on new infra projects (carrier API hub, inventory ledger, syncing engines, shipping channel engine).
Participating in code review, raise the technical bar, and bring opinions on systems, pipelines, and observability.
Partnering with the rest of the team so feature work has the infra primitives it needs.
Requirements
3-5+ years of professional experience in backend, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
Strong with Node.js + TypeScript in production environments.
Hands-on experience with serverless / edge runtimes (Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda, Deno Deploy, or similar).
Solid SQL background - schema design, query performance, migrations. Planetscale / Drizzle exposure is a plus.
Experience designing and operating distributed jobs and data syncing pipelines at volume.
Familiarity with observability stacks (Opentelemetry, Grafana, Sentry, or equivalents).
Comfortable working across third-party APIs - retries, idempotency, webhook reliability, rate limits.
Strong written and async communication - Infra operates as a fully remote team.
Self-starter who pushes back, has strong opinions, and holds peers to a high technical bar.
Bonus: experience in e-commerce, 3PL, WMS, ERP integrations, shipping APIs, or IaC (Terraform).
