🌊Blue Support Hub Application Form

Thank you for your interest in joining the Blue Support Hub (BSH), OceanHub Africa’s pan-African community of practice for Ecosystem Support Organisations (ESOs) supporting ocean-positive and Blue Economy entrepreneurship across Africa.
We are excited to learn more about your organisation and explore how we can collaborate, learn, and strengthen the Blue Economy ecosystem together.

🌊 About the Blue Support Hub

The Blue Support Hub is a pan-African community of practice for ESOs supporting ocean-positive and Blue Economy entrepreneurship across Africa.
Convened by OceanHub Africa, the community of practice brings together incubators, accelerators, hubs, NGOs, and ecosystem builders working to strengthen entrepreneurship, innovation, and impact across ocean-related sectors.
The BSH is designed to support the supporters by enabling collaboration, peer learning, and coordinated action, while reducing fragmentation and duplication across Africa's Blue Economy ecosystem.

🎯 What ESOs Aim to Gain from Being Part of the Community of Practice

By joining the Blue Support Hub community of practice, ESOs will gain access to a pan-African network of peer ESOs and Blue Economy experts:
🌊 Co-design and co-implementation of Blue Economy focused programmes.
🌊 Increased visibility and positioning through regional and continental platforms.
🌊 Gain exposure to funding and partnership opportunities, including joint initiatives and consortia.
🌊 Access shared tools, resources, and learning opportunities, such as masterclasses, workshops, and ecosystem insights.
This community of practice prioritises collaboration and shared value creation rather than competition.

🤝 What Membership Involves

Participation in the BSH is based on mutual commitment:
Selected organisations are expected to:
🌊 Participate in CoP activities, typically requiring an average of one to two hours per month.
🌊 Engage constructively in peer exchanges, learning sessions, and joint initiatives, share relevant knowledge, tools, or opportunities where possible.
🌊 Contribute to strengthening the quality and reach of Blue Economy entrepreneurship support in Africa.
The Blue Support Hub is not a funding programme, but a capacity-building and collaboration platform designed to strengthen ESOs’ effectiveness, visibility, and connectivity within the Blue Economy ecosystem.

🔍 Selection Process

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by OceanHub Africa.
Selection is guided by:
🌊 Relevance of the organisation’s mandate to entrepreneurship and innovation support
🌊 Geographic and sectoral diversity within the community
🌊 Demonstrated willingness to actively contribute to peer learning and collaboration
Due to the collaborative nature of the Blue Support Hub, membership is selective and focused on organisations that demonstrate both strategic alignment and active engagement potential.
Organisations will be notified of the outcome following review, and selected members will receive an onboarding pack outlining next steps and opportunities for engagement.
