Young Entrepreneur Booth Rules & Expectations 🎄

We’re excited to welcome your young entrepreneur to Tampa’s Young Entrepreneurs Business Fair – Holiday Edition!

Our goal is to give children the opportunity to experience what it’s like to create, market, and operate their own business in a real marketplace. This event is about building confidence, creativity, independence, communication skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset while having fun and connecting with our Tampa community.

Please review the following rules and expectations with your young entrepreneur before registering.

⭐ The Kids Are the Entrepreneurs

This is a kid-led event!

Children should be actively involved in developing their business, creating or selecting their products, setting prices, decorating their booth, speaking with customers, handling sales, and explaining their business.

Parents and guardians are absolutely welcome to help with preparation, transportation, setup, safety, electronic payments, and age-appropriate assistance. However, parents should not run the booth or do the selling for their child.

We understand that younger children and children with different needs may require more assistance, and that is completely okay. The goal is for every child to participate as independently as is appropriate for their age and abilities.

Encourage them. Guide them. Help when they need it. But whenever possible, let the kids do the talking, selling, creating, and problem-solving. That’s where the learning happens! ❤️

🛍️ Products & Services

Products and services must be appropriate for a family-friendly event.

Young entrepreneurs may sell handmade products, baked goods or treats, artwork, crafts, accessories, toys, creative products, services, or other approved business ideas.

Items that are unsafe, illegal, inappropriate for children, or otherwise unsuitable for a family event are not permitted.

Event organizers reserve the right to decline any product, service, or display that does not fit the nature of the event.

Food vendors are responsible for following any applicable food-safety requirements. We strongly encourage food vendors to clearly identify common allergens when appropriate.

🎨 Make Your Booth Your Own!

We want to see your young entrepreneur’s personality and creativity shine!

Kids should help create and decorate their booth and are encouraged to have:

- A business name and/or business sign
- Clearly displayed prices
- Products organized and ready for customers
- Decorations or branding that represent their business
- A way to accept payment and provide change if accepting cash
- A friendly attitude and their best sales pitch!

Remember, our judges will be visiting booths throughout the event, so creativity, branding, presentation, and customer service matter!

⛺ What Each Vendor Must Bring

Each vendor is responsible for bringing their own booth setup.

Please bring:

- Table – REQUIRED
- Chairs – REQUIRED
- Tent/Canopy – OPTIONAL
- Tablecloth
- Business signage
- Product displays
- Decorations
- All merchandise/products
- Cash/change if accepting cash
- Electronic payment device or QR code, if applicable
- Any additional supplies needed to operate your business

Tents/canopies are optional but are encouraged for vendors who would like additional shade or protection from the weather.

Please make sure your setup is safe, secure, and stays within your assigned vendor space. Walkways must remain clear at all times.

🏆 Young Entrepreneur Awards

Our judges will visit participating booths during the fair to recognize the creativity, hard work, and entrepreneurial skills of our young business owners.

Award categories include:

🎨 Most Creative Booth
⭐ Best Branding
🤝 Best Customer Experience
🛍️ Best Handmade Items
🧁 Best Treats & Food Vendor

Young entrepreneurs should be prepared to introduce themselves, explain their business, answer simple questions about their products, and interact with customers and judges.

Parents, please allow your entrepreneur to answer the judges’ questions whenever possible!

💳 Sales & Payments

Each family is responsible for managing its own sales and payment methods.

Entrepreneurs may accept cash and/or electronic payments with the assistance of a parent or guardian. If accepting cash, please bring enough change for customers.

Families using electronic payments are responsible for providing their own phone, card reader, QR code, payment account, internet connection, or other necessary equipment.

All money earned from the child’s business belongs to the young entrepreneur. Tampa’s Young Entrepreneurs Business Fair does not collect a percentage of booth sales.

⏰ Setup, Event Hours & Cleanup

Please plan accordingly for the following schedule:

🛠️ Vendor Setup: 8:00 AM
🎄 Event Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
🧹 Cleanup & Breakdown: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

All young entrepreneurs and their parent/guardian should arrive at 8:00 AM for vendor setup.

This gives families enough time to unload, locate their assigned booth space, set up tables and displays, organize merchandise, decorate, and make sure their young entrepreneur is completely ready before guests arrive.

All booths must be completely set up and ready for customers by 10:00 AM.

The Business Fair will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and vendors are expected to remain open and operating for the entire event.

Please Do Not Pack Up Early
Vendors may not begin breaking down their booths before the event ends at 2:00 PM.

Early breakdown can disrupt neighboring young entrepreneurs and takes away from the experience of families who arrive later in the day.

If an emergency requires your family to leave early, please notify an event organizer before breaking down your booth.

Cleanup & Breakdown
Official cleanup and breakdown will take place from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, giving families plenty of time to safely pack merchandise, take down tents, load vehicles, and clean their assigned spaces.

Each family is responsible for completely cleaning its booth area and removing all:

- Merchandise
- Tables and chairs
- Tents/canopies
- Decorations and signage
- Boxes and packaging
- Trash
- Personal belongings

Please leave your vendor space in the same condition in which you found it. All vendor areas must be completely cleared by 4:30 PM.

❤️ Kindness & Good Sportsmanship

This event is about much more than making sales.

It’s about building confidence, trying something new, learning how businesses work, practicing communication skills, supporting other children, and being proud of something you created.

All young entrepreneurs and accompanying adults are expected to treat customers, volunteers, sponsors, judges, event staff, and fellow vendors with kindness and respect.

Not every booth will have the same number of customers or make the same amount of money, and that’s okay!

Every child who puts themselves out there, creates something, talks to customers, and runs their own business has accomplished something worth celebrating.

We encourage our young entrepreneurs to support and cheer on one another throughout the event.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent & Guardian Expectations

A responsible adult must remain available for their child throughout the event.

Adults may assist with safety, bathroom breaks, food handling when necessary, electronic payments, making change, and other age-appropriate needs.

However, please remember that this experience is for the children.

Whenever possible, allow your child to:

- Greet the customer.
- Explain the product.
- Answer questions.
- Tell the customer the price.
- Make the sale.
- Thank the customer.

Parents should be their child’s support system, not their salesperson. ❤️

📸 Photography & Event Promotion

Photos and videos may be taken throughout the event for event-related marketing, social media, website, and promotional purposes.

Any required photo/video consent will be completed by the child’s parent or legal guardian during registration.

⚠️ Vendor Responsibility

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their child and their booth throughout the event.

Families are responsible for their own merchandise, money, payment devices, tables, chairs, tents, decorations, equipment, and personal belongings.

Tampa’s Young Entrepreneurs Business Fair is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged personal belongings or merchandise.

🎄 Most Importantly… Have Fun!

Be creative. Talk to customers. Practice your sales pitch. Support the other young entrepreneurs. Take pictures. Learn something new. Make some sales. And most importantly, be proud of what you created!

We can’t wait to see what Tampa’s young entrepreneurs bring to the Holiday Business Fair! 🎄✨
