Submit a Manuscript or Proposal

Welcome to the Education's Digest platform for submission of a manuscript or proposal for content.

The Education’s Digest is a periodical publication of the IEEE Portuguese Education Society Chapter whose goal is to help and promote discussions on the topic of Education in Engineering. The first edition of this publication was issued in September 2024, and following the success of the last issue in September 2025, we are looking to the community to help shape its future.

While we value our invited articles, a true community publication cannot rely solely on the initiative of the Portuguese Education Chapter. To elevate and encourage best practices in engineering education, the editorial team invites you to contribute to a future edition.

We are looking for content that is current, innovative, and maintains a serious record in science and engineering. The scope of this publication is wide within the scope of the relation between Engineering and Education. We invite submissions in the following categories:

- Opinion pieces

- Column proposals

- Scientific article summaries

- Other relevant proposals

Instructions for Authors

Here, we provide the information you need to successfully publish your work or proposal in the IEEE Portuguese Education Society Chapter's Education's Digest publication, including selecting the right submission type, writing and formatting your article, submitting your paper, and navigating the submission process.

Template and Format

The articles in Education's Digest are always manually edited and will not end in the same format as requested by the author. Only the content is considered, as text, tables, figures, code blocks, and other immutable content.

To standardize this, we request our submissions to follow both Word or LaTeX project formats, as a ZIP file including all the original source files (if you use Word, please have the original version of each used figure also included in the ZIP file, besides their usage in the Word document file. To get the template, please download it from the IEEE Template Selector, by choosing "Magazine" type, and then "Computer".

Language

The Education’s Digest is a bilingual publication, written in both Portuguese and English. When submitting, the authors could either choose to present their manuscript/proposals in Portuguese or English (or both). The editing team will be responsible for creating a translated version of the uploaded manuscript.

Costs

The submission and publishing process in Education’s Digest does not have any Article Processing Cost (APC), thus it is free to publish in the Education's Digest.

Free Access and Licensing

All the accepted oeuvres will be free to access and published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License at Zenodo. At the end, each published submission it is assigned a DOI.
