Software Engineering Lead

As a software engineering lead, your mandate is centered on owning the technical vision, execution, and growth of our engineering function. You will play a critical hands-on role while also building the foundations for a high-performing engineering team.
A. Technical Leadership & Architecture

System Design: Own and evolve the overall software architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security from day one.

Code Excellence: Define and enforce engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices and quality controls.

Hands-on Development: Actively contribute to development by driving the implementation of core features, platforms, and infrastructure, especially in early stages as the team scales.
B. Operational Management & Delivery

Execution: Translate product and business requirements into clear engineering plans, execute the technical roadmap, and ensure timely delivery of sprints and milestones.

Process & Tooling: Establish and maintain engineering workflows, including testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and incident response.

Resource Management: Manage engineering tools, cloud infrastructure, and operational costs in collaboration with and under the supervision of the CTO.
C. Team Building & Engineering Culture

Hiring & Onboarding: Support recruitment efforts by interviewing, hiring, and onboarding future engineering team members.

Mentorship & Growth: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and career development support to engineers at different levels.

Culture: Foster a culture of technical rigor, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
D. Cross-Functional Strategy & Communication

Product Partnership: Work closely with Product and Design teams to ensure technical decisions align with business goals and user needs.

Reporting: Deliver clear, regular updates on engineering progress, risks, and resource utilization to the CTO and leadership team.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for non-engineering teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing), translating complex technical topics into clear business insights.
