This time we’ll meet for the longer 6-hour format, which is personally my favorite. I feel that having more time allows the process to stay connected rather than being interrupted, and gives us the possibility to create a container together for a fuller experience.
We’ll begin with grounding, sensing, relaxation and opening the body, before moving into individual curiosity: exploring bellydance skills, sensations, movements or questions that each person would like to spend time with.
From there, we’ll slowly build and level up the individual exploration into encounters with others, moving through partner work and eventually into collective dancing and group exercises.
Throughout the day, we’ll work with somatic approaches within a bellydance context, with inspiration from Egyptian culture, especially around social encounters, play, dancing together and the different ways movement can exist between people.
