Behind the Username

I’m Maddison Fox. I’m 34 and live in the UK, and I’ve worked in the adult industry since January 2020, including as a highly successful OnlyFans creator.

So much of the conversation about OnlyFans focuses on the creators: who we are, how much money we make and the content we create. I’m writing this nonfiction book because I want to understand the people on the other side of the subscriptions.

I want to hear why men choose to subscribe, what’s happening in their lives, and what drives their desire to subscribe. Most of all, I want to know what they would like other people to understand about why they do it.

Rather than speak for subscribers or make assumptions, I want to give you space to share your own perspective, in your own words and without judgement.

Who are the people behind OnlyFans subscriptions, and why do they really subscribe?
Who are they? What are their lives like? And why do they choose to subscribe?

Rather than make assumptions, I want to hear directly from the people themselves.

This short survey is an opportunity to share your perspective openly, honestly and without judgement.

There are no right or wrong answers. I'm interested in your own experiences, whatever they may be.

Participation is voluntary. You can respond without giving your name, username or contact details. If you would like me to contact you about your answers, you can choose Yes in the optional follow-up section at the end and leave an email address. Your contact details will then be linked to your answers. You can decline further questions or withdraw contact permission at any time. Please do not include identifying details about other people.

Before publication, I will change names and remove or alter usernames, contact details and other identifying information, and review stories and quotations for details that could reveal someone’s identity. Responses containing personal details will be treated as confidential research data; they are not anonymous at collection. Complete anonymity cannot be guaranteed simply by changing a name.
