What is The other COP?
The other COP is an online community for climate professionals that are:
- Deeply involved in their work, as professionals, and also as citizens and humans.
- In the pursuit of maximum impact through the climate crisis - whether in mitigation, adaptation or both.
- Already involved in growing and learning through it by themselves, and embracing the multiple challenges in facing the climate crisis.
And that:
- Crave (actually) curated third-spaces to interact with their peers.
- Need a less formal and more organic and experiential approach to training, learning, and acquiring skills.
- Sometimes want to be challenged, and sometimes want to be cared for.
- Want to have staying power in climate impact, and sometimes feel the heat and the burden is a bit much to carry alone.
- Want
to build resilience and robustness through relationships.
The other COP is a dedicated space to:

Who is leading The other COP?
Kate is the instigator and the leader of The other COP. She's a trained economist with a decade of experience working in climate and energy consulting, policy and research - and many other years of exploring inside and out how to show up best for her big mission: facing and solving the climate crisis. An adventurer/explorer-type from Montréal, in Québec (Canada), she now lives in Tokyo, Japan, where she founded her company, INSPIRE climate. Apart from an economist, she's also been a university lecturer, a tour guide, a marathoner, a tree-planter, a (competitive and synchronized) swimming coach, a canoe-camping guide and a failed massage therapist.
Good to know:
- The other COP is still under construction. Its final design will take YOUR needs into consideration, and it will be launched in the next few months.
