A Quick Overview:

We're a 501c3 registered nonprofit of around 30 students deeply committed to investing, focusing on combating climate change and expediting the energy transition. Established in 2021, we've experienced rapid growth and now actively manage a growing portfolio. Joining TSIG requires an application and interview process. There is nothing to study or learn to join our group. We prioritize traits like curiosity, ambition, effective communication, and innovative thinking. Anticipate dedicating around 5 hours per week, subject to variation. Learn about our recruitment process at the bottom of this page. We're pretty transparent about everything over on our website: www.tsig.org.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why focus on the energy transition? We believe the Energy Transition represents the most significant alpha-generating opportunity of our lifetime. You can read more about our sectoral interests and why we are primed to be the best investment group at Princeton in our white paper: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_bRjJvL7Yzg2FdSbHKhae2x-1lMY8s5sUqZzc_fagzQ/edit
What is our investment process? We are organized into six industry groups with ~4-5 people per group. Each group conducts their own top down (policy oriented) and bottom up (financials / projections) research in order to arrive at high conviction investments.
How often do we invest? We invest twice a year at the end of each semester and make decisions about current holdings at the same time. A group can pitch any number of stocks and we invite industry professionals (researchers, Chief Investment Officers, etc.) to give us feedback and participate in our investment process.
What is the work like? We pride ourselves on matching interests to actual work. If you love coding, you can build proprietary data streams to build greater conviction on your group's thesis. If you love policy, you can help us analyze EU tax credits or proposed bills in the US. Whatever you enjoy doing, there's a place for you at TSIG. Our general work involves financial analysis, forecasting, discounted cash flow models, and business analysis (competitive positioning, margins, etc.).
What if I don't know anything about finance? That's great! Most of us came into this club not interested/knowledgable about finance either. We have a comprehensive educational process and mentorship to get you up to speed quickly. We don't require any finance knowledge in our interview process and really look for people ready to learn and intensely curious.
