You have been invited to participate in a university research study aimed at improving access to digital techniques that can help access building regulations for built environment professionals. Please read the following information to understand what comes next.
By progressing to the next page, you confirm that you have read and understood the information provided for the research study. You have had the opportunity to consider the information, ask questions and you have had these answered satisfactorily. You understand that your participation is voluntary and that you are free to withdraw at any time without giving any reason, without your legal rights being affected. You agree to take part in the above study.
I am conducting this research because I believe that improving access to 3D scanning data (LiDAR) and merging it with geolocation and building regulations can help improve everyday architectural decision-making.
To understand more about this problem, I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions on the subject. Don’t worry if you have never used LiDAR before, you can still share your thoughts on the topic. Specifically, I would like to know about how you access building regulations and any challenges you have finding the right ones for your project.
Taking part is completely optional and you can withdraw at anytime by closing the survey window. All answers will be submitted anonymously and because of this, once you have completed the survey you will not be able to withdraw your answers from the study.
In the next few sections, you will see a variety of questions that you will be asked to provide answers to. These will range from multiple choice, to open ended answers. Feel free to write as little or as much as you like. If you don’t know the answer to a question, that is not a problem, simply write ‘No’ in the box.
If at any point you get tired feel free to take a break but beware that the form might not save your answers. Otherwise, there are no risks to you if you choose to participate. By taking part in this survey, you will learn a little bit about the possibility of representing building regulations as 3D representations.
Once you have completed the survey that’s it! I will combine your anonymous answers with others I have received and use the data to inform my final project. If you wish to view the final project, then feel free to provide your email address or contact details and I will send you a copy.
If you choose to provide your email address or contact details, this information will not be connected to your survey responses. I will never share your contact information with any third party, and I will not store your details beyond December when the project will end.
