PTFoundation Scholarship Application 2024!

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Patent Quality Education and Training Foundation (PTF) are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding law students attending one of the six Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) law schools. Selected scholars will receive a one-year scholarship of $5,000 for the 2024-2025 academic school year, which will be used to cover the costs of tuition and fees, on-campus room and board and required textbooks purchased from member-schools.

Eligibility Consideration:
Enrolled as a law student for the 2024-2025 school year at one of the following TMCF member law schools:
1. Howard University School of Law
2. Southern University Law Center
3. North Carolina Central University Law School
4. Florida A&M College of Law
5. Thurgood Marshall School of Law
6. UDC David A. Clark School of Law
* Current grade point average of 3.0 or higher
* Demonstrate leadership ability through a variety of measures
* U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-5511
Applicants must submit the following documents for consideration:
1. Resume
2. A copy of the 2024-2025 FAFSA Confirmation form and a copy of your student Account
Requirement Page-Indicating all required documents from your institution’s financial aid department has been submitted.
3. Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term.
4. Please provide an email for two recommenders to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
5. Essay: Please answer the following question (Maximum 500 words):
How will an award from Thurgood Marshall College Fund and PTFoundation help make a difference in meeting your goal of engaging in the full-time practice of Intellectual Property law?
