WITU PARTICIPANT SAFEGUARDING COMMITMENT FORM

Women in Technology Uganda (WITU) is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all individuals, especially children, young women, adolescents, and adults with special needs. We believe that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. As a participant in a WITU program or activity, you are expected to understand, respect, and uphold the values and standards that ensure everyone's safety and dignity.

Anyone reporting in good faith any incident of suspected or real misconduct is entitled to protection by WITU from retaliation covered by the whistleblowing policy of WITU. The following are minimum standards of behavior that are expected from any participant in terms of safeguarding
1. Treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
2. Refrain from any abusive behavior including bullying, harassment (sexual, emotional, physical), intimidation, violence, discrimination, exploitation, neglect, or any degrading behavior.
3. Respect everyone’s privacy and confidentiality, including the information shared by other participants, staff, or program facilitators.
4. Not engage in any form of misconduct with fellow participants, WITU staff, or others associated with WITU.
5. Respect the rights and privacy of children, young women, adolescents, and adults with special needs, ensuring they are not exploited in any way.
6. Not use inappropriate language or engage in harmful, degrading, or inappropriate behavior towards any individual.
7. Refrain from taking photos, videos, or conducting interviews without the explicit consent of those involved.
