We want to know what our readers think about proposals to change the normal national speed limit on single carriageway roads in Scotland.
The Scottish Government proposes reducing the speed limit for cars from 60mph to 50mph whilst raising the speed limit for lorries over 7.5tons from 40mph to 50mph.
Highland council have responded to the Scottish Government proposal. They have supported raising the speed limit for lories from 40mph to 50mph, but do not support changing the speed limit for cars. The council argues it should remain at 60mph.
