Founding engineers from startups backed by a16z, YC, Sequoia, and more have attended our monthly Founding Engineer series.
This month, we’re opening up our community to engineers who are curious about the experiences of founding engineers. Please join us for our first Science Fair.
On Wednesday, September 17th, from 6-8 pm, I’m hosting a session in San Francisco where current founding engineers will discuss what they’re building and how they’re building.
Throughout the evening, we’ll have space to chat and go deep on specific questions. We keep the audience on the smaller side so that everyone has a chance to connect. If you’re an engineer who’s never really been on a founding team, but you’re curious to learn about engineering during startups’ earliest stages, this event is for you.
I’m a former founding engineer turned CTO and YC founder. I am now the founder of Scout, a private network for startup engineers.
The practices and perspectives required to be a successful founding engineer are very different than what traditional software engineering looks like – especially now. This is a unique opportunity to join a community that’s practicing this craft.
Our events have been 8x oversubscribed, so apply early to secure your spot. We keep the room intimate to ensure everyone has a chance to meet others meaningfully. Furthermore, this event is candidly an experiment. I genuinely don't know if we'll do this again. So if you're able to make it, I wouldn't miss this chance.
To apply, please answer the questions in the application form. I will personally read every response. To put your best foot forward, I recommend taking the time to write meaningful responses.
Can’t make it? Drop your email to hear about future events.
Have a friend or colleague who you’d recommend? Share this with them; it could change their career.
