Youth Delegate Nomination Form

A Way in the Waters: The Second Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes

Please complete this form to apply to serve as a youth delegate to the upcoming diocesan convention. High school-aged young people are invited to participate at the diocesan convention by applying to become a Youth Delegate. Youth Delegates are leaders in their congregation and in the diocese and have voice and vote at convention. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the youth delegates to participate. Lodging, food, and registration fees are all included. Convention is October 24 and 25 in Saginaw; youth delegates will arrive in the evening of October 23.

The deadline for nominations for youth delegates is September 1. If you have any questions, please contact McKenzie Knill, Director for Children, Youth and Young Adult Formation, with any questions.

The following are requirements for serving as a youth delegate to the diocesan convention:

>> Enrolled in high school (or a home school equivalent) at the time of the diocesan convention.

>> An active member in good standing of an Episcopal Church in the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes

>> Able to attend the entirety of the in-person diocesan convention and the Zoom pre-convention meeting (in real time or by watching the recording).

The youth delegate must agree to the following responsibilities: >> Read, mark, and inwardly digest all of the information presented before convention and be ready to discuss and vote on all matters.

>> Conduct themselves in a mature and personally responsible way.

>> Follow all rules set forth by their adult mentors.

>> Respond to emails prior to the convention and join the youth delegate Discord for communications during the convention.
