About the Role

Aku is looking for a Database Administrator responsible for Implementing, monitoring and supporting robust, stable and highly available Databases that drive Aku’s business solutions.

Job Description

Database Management:

- Manage PostgreSQL and other NoSQL instances through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.

- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring high availability.

Data Security:

- Establish and enforce security policies and access controls.

- Oversee data encryption, authentication, and auditing procedures.

- Stay current with best practices in data security and compliance.

Backup and Recovery:

- Develop and test backup and disaster recovery plans.

- Ensure data is regularly backed up and can be restored in case of emergencies.

Performance Tuning:

- Analyze and optimize SQL queries for better database performance.

- Implement indexing, caching, and other performance-enhancing strategies.

Documentation:

- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.

Experience and Requirements

1. Proven work experience as a Database Administrator 7 – 10 years of industry experience.

2. Proficiency in post-database management systems such as [PostgreSQL, and MongoDB].

3. Strong technical experience using SQL (Stored procedures, JPQL/Criteria API)

4. Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and security best practices.

5. Familiarity with database tools and monitoring systems.

6. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

7. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams.
