Shared-Use Facility Application: Dairy Processing Center

Space, equipment, and staff at the Dairy Processing Center (DPC) at SUNY Cobleskill (SUNY) are available to clients for (a) developing/prototyping value-added dairy products and (b) producing small batches of farm branded value-added dairy products before “graduating” to on-farm processing or a relationship with private contract processors. Access to DPC facilities will be granted only after careful review of each applicant’s plans for facility use and assessment of the applicant’s capacity to ultimately scale up to on-farm or contract processor arrangements. This will be determined based on application content and a follow-up interview with SUNY Cobleskill’s Shared Use Facility Coordinator. Note: not all applicants will be invited to participate in a follow-up interview. Approval for use will be determined by the “DPC Qualified User Matrix”. Successful applicants granted access to DPC facilities must complete the “Approved User Check List,” which includes the “Facility Use Permit”. As the facility is intended to provide a temporary “incubator” service to clients, each use permit will be reviewed annually to determine whether clients’ use of the DPC can be extended. Please see Facilities Use Permit for further rules and restrictions related to fee payments and general facility usage. All questions are required unless otherwise noted. Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Seth Browe, Shared-Use Facility Coordinator at [email protected] or 518-255-5032.
