2026 Garden Coordinators + Community Gardeners

We started the textile + dye garden in May 2025, and have built a garden that has produced our first dye and fiber crops. Today, we’re growing fast and excited for new talent to join our team!

We're looking for 3-5 garden coordinators + community gardeners to help support next years' garden. The garden is at Aalto Test Site, and there is room to expand the garden and its initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate planting, watering, and harvest of the garden together
- Develop workshops and partner projects + communicate with workshop leaders

Time Commitment

- Gardening in planting/harvest: 3 hrs/week, low season: 1 hr/week (at most)
- Gardening Coordinators in planting/harvest: 5 hrs/week, low season: 3 hr/week
*coordinators should ideally be present during summer months, or schedule coverage to make sure plants don't die in July!

Skills & Experience

- Gardening experience is a plus (not required!)
- Hands-on experience with the Aalto Test Site is great to have
- Ability to collaborate with outside actors + develop permaculture practices
*optional but super fun:
- Skills in textile chemistry, chemical engineering, ecology, agriculture, sustainability
- Experience with textiles, dyes, color, or design, or a desire to grow these skills
