South Bay Chinese School (SBCS) 南灣中文學校 is a non-profit, non-sectarian and non-political organization committed to serve the Los Angeles South Bay residents by teaching and promoting the richness of Chinese culture, language and arts since 1971.

ℹ️ The guzheng (古箏) is a traditional Chinese string instrument made from Paulownia wood and and is known for its rich, melodic sound. It was first mentioned in the Qin dynasty and has been a key part of Chinese music for over 2,000 years! ℹ️ Ms. Kitty Lai, a native of Hong Kong, holds a Grade 10 Certificate in Guzheng Performance from the Chinese Nationalities Orchestra Society. With over 23 years of performance experience, Kitty brings her deep passion for the guzheng to life and hopes to inspire others to appreciate the timeless beauty of this traditional instrument.
We are offering a guzheng class in Fall 2025 and will notify you when enrollment opens!
