Brand Discovery

Welcome to the brand discovery process. Your responses to this questionnaire will give me a foundational understanding of your business and how it can best be positioned in your market. We'll start to crystalize all of this in your discovery session.

First Name

How do you want to grow as a business in the next year?

Brand Purpose

What is your greater vision for the world and how does your business contribute to that?

Be as illustrative as you'd like in order to paint a full picture of this utopian world.

What is the core belief or philosophy that drives your business and speaks to why it exists?

e.g. "We believe in the power of the human body to heal itself..."

Let's say your operations are growing and you're training another person at your business. What do you want them to keep in mind as they conduct business and represent your brand?

Think of these like your guiding principles e.g. "Treat the root cause of health issues rather than just managing symptoms."

Brand Positioning

If someone asks you "What do you do?" what do you say?

How would your best clients or fans describe you and your work?

How do you want to be perceived? What do you want people to think about your business even if they've never engaged with it?

List out all of the services and products you offer:

Which of these do you want to do more of and which of these do you want to do less of?

Share any nuance around your offerings, which are most profitable, etc.

What differentiates you from others in your market?

You may wish to speak to what sets you apart from the "average" business who does what you do and then dig deeper—what differentiates you even further from those who have similar beliefs and philosophies?

What competitors, industry adjacent professionals or public figures do you admire?

These could be local, national or international. Even if someone is completely unrelated in the space but you like their brand, share it. Include links to where you interact with their brand (e.g. Instagram).

Brand Promise

Consider your ideal client. What are their characteristics? What do they value and desire? What are they most challenged by?

How do you help deliver them from their challenges?

What is the transformation they endure while working with you?

Are you currently serving the people you want to work with or is this audience a pivot from your current model/messaging?

Brand Identity

If your brand were a person, how would you describe their personality?

Consider how you want people to feel when they interact with the brand.

What visual elements, colors, visuals or symbols best represent your brand?

Are there any brands you admire when it comes to their look and feel?

This does not have to be related to your industry.

Brand Audit

What are all of the ways someone can currently interact with your brand (online and in person)?

Please include links.
