Cambridge AI Safety Research Assistantships (CASRA) - Expression of Interest

We are currently accepting expressions of interest for Cambridge AI Safety Research Assistantships (CASRA), a paid research program that places technically skilled Cambridge students as research assistants working directly with experienced AI safety professionals.

Program Structure: CASRA offers paid research assistant positions working directly with AI safety professionals based in Cambridge. Participants commit 8 hours per week throughout one academic term, gaining practical research experience while contributing to cutting-edge AI safety projects.
Program Size: We expect to offer fewer than 10 research assistant positions. Eligibility: This program is designed for Cambridge students with strong technical backgrounds. Ideal candidates have completed ARENA (arena.education) or equivalent technical AI safety training, or demonstrate comparable technical skills in machine learning, mathematics, or computer science. Research Projects: Students are placed with professionals from leading AI safety organizations, contributing to projects in technical alignment research, AI governance, and empirical AI safety work. Compensation: The position offers competitive hourly pay and exceptional professional development opportunities.
