HB 1368 creates a grant program to transition our state's K-12 bus fleet from diesel to electric while establishing the necessary charging infrastructure. It will slash GHG emissions while reducing kids' exposure to diesel exhaust, moving us towards a cleaner, greener future.
This bill would expand the definition of assault of an officer to include off-duty law enforcement and expand the sentencing enhancement that applies to assaults of an on-duty enforcement officer.
This bill extends the existing producer-provided recycling program for mercury-containing lights and shifts financial responsibility to the manufacturers. It also phases out the sale of most mercury-containing fluorescent lights in 2029.
The bill would set up a port district equity fund to award grants to port districts for inspection, repair or replacement of hazardous or faulty noise mitigation equipment.
Oppose a $25,000,000 giveaway of public funds for an expensive new nuclear project at Hanford.
Assess the need for and feasibility of a statewide low-income assistance program for water utility customers.
The Trust Land Transfer program protects heavily forested areas. The House and Senate have included $8M from the climate commitment act funding to conserve more than 1400 acres of forests. The six projects in the House budget would be the best use of funds.
Supplemental Capital Budget Proviso to fund the Quinault Legacy Forest Acquisition with $25M.
