It is our pleasure to invite you to volunteer with Melanin Medics, a non-profit charitable organisation aimed at promoting diversity in medicine, widening aspirations and aiding career progression. 

Surgical training is a highly selective and competitive process. Those that succeed are often privy to a hidden curriculum which helps to guide their career planning. We aim to provide trainees with surgical ambassadors who will help them rise and navigate their training purposefully.

We have created a 10-month career development programme called SurgIn: The Lewin Programme.  This RCS funded programme focuses on supporting trainees of Black African and Caribbean heritage who have aspirations of becoming trained surgeons.
