O-Platz lives!
Submit proposals for the exhibition & action fortnight 30th July – 13th August 2022

O-Platz and new refugee / migrant / anti-racist resistance movements across Germany are coming together to mark the next decade of O-Platz as a political space

Third-country nationals and stateless people from Ukraine join this moment with their demands for equal rights and protection under Article 24, to have the right to study, work, and stay in Germany. 

With the forthcoming 10-year anniversary of the O-Platz refugee resistance movement, activists want to celebrate the movement, make their old and new demands heard, and celebrate the movement re-emphasize that racist oppression and disenfranchisement of refugees / migrants is unacceptable. We are here, and we will fight – Freedom of movement is everybody’s right! 

From 30 July 30th to 13 August 13th, 2022, starting from 11 am every day, we'll come together at Oranienplatz to commemorate the past 10 years of the refugee movement and ring in the next decade with protests, press conferences, speeches, an exhibitions, music, performances, artistic and cultural events. 

The exhibition will open at 11 am on 30 July 30th, followed by a press conference at 3pm. It will be open every day from around 111 am to around 8pm, although these times may vary on some days according to the day's programme. If you would like to present your art or other creative projects and ideas in this context, please fill out this form. Priority will be given to BIPoC, especially people with refugee experience. ! Please note that Oranienplatz is an outdoor space with only very limited access to electricity – we can arrange electricity via batteries or a generator only for maximum 3 hours.! Please note that since Oranienplatz is an outdoor space, we cannot guarantee the safety of the exhibited artworks. For drawings, paintings, collage, photography etc, We recommend showing printed copies of scans or photographs of your work.

(We are asking this because we want to center artists with lived or intergenerational experience that relates to the O-Platz refugee struggle)
