Internship Summary

We’re seeking a dynamic, proactive, and high-performing Business Development Intern for a summer internship role that will support special projects, operations, partnerships, research, and growth-related initiatives. You’ll work closely with the Business Strategy Lead on fast-moving initiatives across media, strategy, research, and ecosystem engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development Support
- Support our business development efforts by helping with email outreach, drafting proposals, and researching potential clients.
- Assist in pulling together insights for ecosystem reports, pitch decks, grant applications, and funding trackers.
- Help with the planning and coordination of both internal and external projects and events.
- Keep our internal databases, shared folders, and reporting tools organized and up-to-date.

- Contribute to drafting operational documents and help build simple CRM systems to enhance our workflows.

- Attend stakeholder meetings, take notes, and assist in ensuring follow-ups are handled promptly.

- Work with the team to create and manage timelines, checklists, and prep materials for events.

- Collaborate with the Business Strategy and Operations teams to monitor KPIs and project timelines.

Requirements

- Strong interest in media, creative economy, innovation, or strategy.

- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Notion, Trello or Airtable.

- Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.

- Experience securing grants and investment.

- A self-starter with a willingness to learn, grow, and figure things out
- Previous internship or leadership experience is a plus (not mandatory)
- Undergraduate, NYSC, or recent grad preferred

Skills & Competencies

- First-hand experience building a media business

- Understand how African media and creative companies operate at scale

- Gain hands-on experience in business strategy, partnerships, ecosystem mapping, and editorial planning

- Learn to build efficient systems, documentation, and workflows

- Get exposure to working directly with the leadership team on strategic priorities

- A certificate and a letter of recommendation will be provided upon successful completion

Benefits

- As a startup, we operate a fixed salary structure. For this role, our offer is a total compensation of ₦450,000 (gross) for the 3-month internship period.

- Internet subscription up to 20,000 naira
