Experienced Software Engineer, Backend

At the heart of everything we do are people. We’re a unique blend of young talent and global digital-industry veterans, and we're currently in search of a passionate Mid-Level or Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team and take on the following responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop efficient, scalable and reliable backend systems

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver excellent user experiences

• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges

• Manage and operate your solutions, ensuring they perform optimally in production

• Support and mentor team members

• Continuously discover, evaluate, and adopt new technologies to maximise development efficiency

Requirements

• Strong sense of agency and a proactive mindset • Deep ownership and strong follow-through • Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Excellent problem-solving and learning ability • Strong background in Computer Science and system design

• 2+ years of industry experience in software development

• Strong skills in Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript), or other server-side technologies

• Strong background in non-relational database systems, such as MongoDB or Redis • Experience in designing REST APIs

• Proficiency with agentic coding tools • Strong testing mindset and an eye for clean, maintainable code • Understanding of security principles and how they apply to backend systems

• Experience with task planning and effort estimation

• A passion for delivering exceptional user experiences

• Proven literacy in English

• Military obligations must be fulfilled (if applicable)

• Bonus: Experience in leading small to medium-sized teams

• Bonus: Experience with cloud-hosting platforms, such as Heroku or AWS
• Bonus: Experience with performance monitoring tools, such as New Relic
• Bonus: Strong background in relational databases and SQL
