The leadership of Missionary Athletes International (MAI) and the Chicago Eagles believes it is in the best interest of the ministry for Chicago Eagles Summer Academy players to agree to and commit to the following for the duration of the Summer Academy:
1. I recognize that MAI and the Chicago Eagles use the Bible for direction and the basis of making decisions. I will seek to be obedient to the Bible.
2. I will ask at least 3 people to pray for me as I serve God through the mission of MAI.
3. I commit to being punctual.
4. I commit to following all host home guidelines.
5. I commit to following the phone policy.
6. I will approach all activities regarding my responsibility as an Eagles player with a positive attitude and a high work ethic.
7. I recognize that sexual sin is one of Satan’s most destructive tactics; I commit to sexual purity. If married, I commit to faithfulness to my spouse.
8. I recognize that it is in the best interest of God’s Kingdom, the Eagles, and my personal witness to refrain from behavior that could cause others to stumble. Therefore, I will refrain from drinking alcohol, using tobacco, vaping, and any illegal drugs for the duration of the Summer Academy.
9. I recognize that my online communication through social media is a predominant way that messages are being communicated in our culture. I will be wise in everything I post online and I will not post anything that communicates (or gives the impression of) unbiblical activity. If I am unsure if I should post a picture, video, or comment, I will ask a person in authority with the Chicago Eagles for their counsel.
10. I commit to living in a spirit of unity with my teammates, coaches and staff within the
community of the Summer Academy. Consistent with the principles laid out in Matthew 18, in the event of a disagreement or should a conflict arise, I will pursue resolution with the person(s) most directly involved. Should I not find a resolution, I will then discuss the issue with the next level of authority available to me. I will not make such issues a basis for gossip or undermining of the Summer Academy community.
If I have a problem upholding these standards, I will seek to discuss my situation with an appropriate person from the MAI staff. I understand that chronic failure to live up to these standards may result in an early dismissal from the Summer Academy program.
