Culture Underground Pride Culture Walk Submissions

Building on the enthusiastic support and amazing submissions we received for our culture walks at the Stoneybatter Festival and ICAD Upstarts, we are now turning our focus toward curating a series of Pride routes, honouring and celebrating the full spectrum of queerness, beyond gender binarism and heteronormative conventions, with the allies who walk alongside, and for every creative expression in the LGBTQ+ community that deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.

We wish to see creativity and diversity intertwined throughout our series of Pride routes. Where history meets stories, and where every creative expression of the community gets to be seen, heard and honoured. Virtually painting the town with their pieces, nourishing connections and showcasing their talents.

This year’s Dublin Pride theme, “Taking Liberties”, speaks to the fundamental freedoms at the heart of the community. The liberty to live, express, and exist without fear or limitations. For LGBTQ+ youths, this liberty must extend beyond physical spaces and into the digital world, where many seek connection, affirmation and safety. We want this panoply of creative expressions to become acts that remind youth, Trans individuals, immigrants, the elderly and everyone that their identity is something to be celebrated, not hidden. Spreading creativity, rooting for a more connected community, with unity and love, before, during and after Pride.

Join us today, be part of the underground movement. Let's put creativity on our map.

If you’re a writer, poet, artist, musician, performer we’d love you to be featured on one of our Pride routes. Send us your details below and we’ll get back to you very soon to invite you to send us your work. And if you’ve any questions just let us know. What is Culture Underground? An immersive, exhibition of creativity - poetry, music, art, performance, and more — shared through a series of self-guided culture walks. Think of it like an underground train loop, but for creative expression. A virtual space for every-one, at all levels of experience and all stages of their creative journey. How it works: - Submit your work - We pin it to a digital, curated map on cultureunderground.ie - Explore the city discovering: music, writing, visuals, and more. Right from your phone! - Connect with creators, expand communities while nurturing culture. You can join any loop at any point, explore at your own pace, and take breaks to soak it all in — or reach out to fellow creatives. We'll be putting out a call for submissions to our Pride Routes soon, and you can register your interest by sending us you details. And if you've any questions, include them in the query box.
