We are a volunteer-run fund that operates in solidarity with the immigrant community in WV. This fund exists to support people and families with emergency expenses that may arise when someone is targeted by or detained by ICE.
Individual families can request up to $2,000/year for:
(1) Costs related to legal efforts and communications for people detained: legal fees, commissary funds, bond, transport costs to/from jails or courts;
(2) Legal costs and fees for those at risk of detention by ICE.
(3) Emergency needs for families whose household member(s) have been detained by ICE: rent, utilities, groceries, formula, diapers, childcare, transportation, and other resources/supplies.
(4) Costs related to reunification of separated families, including passport fees and plane tickets.
People (and family members) who are at risk of being detained by ICE, or have been detained by ICE, in West Virginia. In the event that someone has been detained, a family member or friend can apply on their behalf.
