ABOUT US ✨

START isn’t just another student club - it’s Europe’s leading student-run network for entrepreneurship and technology. Since 1996, START has grown into a global community with 10+ chapters across cities like St. Gallen, Munich, Barcelona, London, Helsinki and Bogotá. What makes it special is the people: ambitious students who want to build, connect, and push ideas forward.

Being part of START means direct access to Europe’s startup and venture capital ecosystem. Our alumni have gone on to Y Combinator, built unicorns, and raised millions with top VC funds. Once a year, the entire network comes together at START Summit, the world’s largest student-run entrepreneurship conference, attracting 6,000+ visitors and partners like Google, Microsoft, and Forbes.

We bring together students from NOVA SBE, Católica, Técnico, and beyond, uniting bright minds from across the city. Our goal is simple but ambitious: to connect Lisbon’s most driven students with startups, investors, and Europe’s wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We do this by hosting events with leading founders and VCs, creating spaces for collaboration, and opening doors to opportunities that go far beyond the classroom. Lisbon’s startup scene is growing fast, and we want our members to be at the center of it - learning, contributing, and shaping what comes next.
