Our personal “operating system” is the sum of our knowledge, beliefs, perceptions, values, memories, fears, goals, and desires all of which shapes our life experiences and the meanings we assign to those experiences.
Research shows that when we encounter more stimulus (which is mostly unconscious) beyond our individual thresholds and capacities to cope with it, the quality of our output (performance, productivity, responses, etc.) is compromised. And, since everyday we’re incessantly bombarded with the demands of more and more stimulus (media information, content consumption, competing priorities, etc.) vying for our attention, it is all the more important to better understand our personal operating systems.
