2025 Camp Indy Scion Application

Welcome to Camp Indy's Scion application process! We are so excited to spend a part of the summer together. Please read and fill out the application below as there are some updates to our scion counselor in training program. This application is intended to be filled out by the scion candidate. We hope that this application will help develop skills necessary in leadership and the working environment for camp and beyond. Leaving this page may not save changes. We recommend typing out short answer responses in a separate document and then copying over.

Expectations and Program Overview:

The goal of our Scion program is that participants would learn and be trained up in all the parts of being a camp counselor, including leadership at camp, but also important and valuable disciplines that will carry into life.
Scions will be trained together all day Monday, and then assigned to a "lead counselor" to walk alongside with their camps were they will be given ample on the field training and opportunity to practice and grow in their skills. Additionally, Scions will have an off campus group activity each week (typically Thursdays). Daily activities will include assisting their assigned counselors, assisting in All Camp Mania, helping with lunches and canteen snack times, cool group, swimming and more.
Scions should be present for the entirety of the camp day, starting with drop off between 8-8:15am and pick up between 4:15-5:00pm. Scions may opt in to join for staff devotionals each morning at 7:45am in the Fireside Room beside the cafeteria. This is optional, but if desiring to go, please arrive promptly to be seated by 7:45am.

The Application Process:

Camp Indy has reinstated Scion Applications this year! Our goal with the application process is that Scions would start the counselor training process from the beginning, highlighting the responsibility that this role carries.

Because of the very limited spaces available in this program each week, and the increasing demand, we are limiting the amount of registered weeks throughout the summer. On the application, you will be required to select your top four week choices as well as any remaining weeks that you would like to be contacted if spaces become available. We will work to try and place each scion in their preferred weeks, however we cannot guarantee that spots will be available.

We encourage you to take this application seriously and answer each question fully. Please be ready with a parent to help you with the scheduling section of the application.
