Open AI & information distribution/dissemination infra grant
As Twitter has open sourced it’s full recommendation algorithm, the time is finally ripe for building complete and high quality information infrastructure in the open domain as public goods. While Mastodon and Nostr have provided ways for users to consume public information in a decentralized and open manner, they’ve lacked the refined user-experiences of AI-enabled recommendation feeds. This grant is dedicated to funding efforts around building open implementations of information dissemination infrastructure.
The initial round of this grant launches with a total budget of 50k, and grantees will be awarded up to 15k(Main Grant), based on mission alignment, and potential for creating impact as a public good that helps distribute and disseminate information in an open and transparent manner, and help users consume information in a free and open manner, with more sovereign choice over how information is curated and presented to them.
